EVANS, OTHERS AHEAD OF SCHEDULE

Sunderland manager Lee Johnson has stayed that Corry Evans and two others are well ahead of schedule as they close in on returning to full fitness. In his latest update on the injury victims in his team, the Sunderland boss said that Denver Hume, Corry Evans and Dennis Cirkin are all nearing full fitness after their recent spell on the sidelines. According to him, all the three players were involved in a light training session at the Academy of Light on Wednesday morning thus providing the Black Cats with a big boost ahead of the festive period fixtures.

The Black Cats are back in form after their  recent poor form but injuries continue to affect the Lee Johnson-led team negatively and the latest update on club skipper Corry Evans, Denver Hume and Dennis Cirkin is a big boost. They are already missing the services of players such as Lynden Gooch, Aiden McGeady and Niall Huggins due to respective injuries.
