PROGRESS
Blackburn Rovers have made good progress in the league in the last few weeks, which has delighted manager Gary Bowyer. The team are currently ninth in the table just five points off the top six places, which will be the play-off positions. Bowyer was given the task of getting the club back into the Premier league after their failure to do so last season. He has made some signings over the summer in order to strengthen the squad, and they seem to be clicking at just the right stage in the season.
One of the signings has been Hull City’s Corry Evans, who has formed a great partnership with Lowe in the midfield, and Bowyer reserved his praise for the youngster. Blackburn have won the last two matches in the league against Bournemouth and Watford. They will be going into the weekend knowing that hat-trick of victories will put them even closer towards the top six. Wigan will be the opponents during the weekend. Blackburn are undefeated in the last three matches and they have conceded just one goal in this period.
Midfielder Lowe has said that there is no reason that Blackburn can think about three points prior to the match against Wigan because they have been in good form over the last few weeks.
“We’ve said all along that Corry’s fitness levels would get better and better with games and credit to him and the sports science team and the medical team for increasing his fitness levels in-season. With having so many games that can be quite difficult, but we’ve managed to do that. He’s only going to get better and better,” said Bowyer about his summer signing ahead of the match with Wigan. After this encounter, Blackburn have matches against the likes of Blackpool, Brighton and Hove Albion, and Middlesbrough.
