EVANS BACK TO FITNESS
Blackburn Rovers midfielder Corry Evans recently regained his fitness and is expected to play a crucial role in the rest of the championship matches. He was signing from Hull city in the last transfer window. He has featured in 12 matches so far for the club and has scored one goal. Blackburn were expected to challenge for the spot in the top six of the table since it would help them get back into the Premier league. However, the club has been unable to find any consistency in the results and it has limited them to be mid-table position despite the huge amounts of spending that has been carried out in recent years.
Despite this, Evans is confident that the club will be able to achieve a strong finish to the season. The former Manchester United man is also backing striker Jordan Rhodes to win the Golden Boot award this campaign. He has been one of the top scorers division, but the former Huddersfield player has been suffering from a crisis of confidence in recent matches. He has not scored in the last couple of matches for Blackburn. The club will be taking on Bournemouth in a match at Ewood Park, and Evans has said that the players should take out their frustration in this derby encounter.
“We were very down and flat after the game but it was more frustration than anything having been in the lead and then throwing it away in the manner that we did. The two goals we gave away were sloppy in the sense that was one a set-piece and the other was a mix-up in the penalty area. But we’ve got to move on now and take that frustration into our next game,” said Evans. Blackburn have been defeated in the last two matches.

EVANS RULED OUT
The 23 years old midfielder of Blackburn Rovers, Corry Evans sustained an injury that left him out of action for almost 4 months. He suffered damage on his ankle ligament when playing for Northern Ireland during a World Cup qualifier back in October 15 of 2013.
The Northern Irish footballer appeared as a substitute player during Blackburn Rovers match against Middlesbrough and was even expected to make his long awaited return to the playing fields but ultimately he had to settle on sitting on the bench for the entirety of the match.
Even though he was not picked by Gary Bowyer to play against Middlesbrough, the head coach of the club stated that his recovery and arrival to the team is almost like having made a new signing with no cost.
“He can pass, he can tackle, he can score goals, he uses his size above his means – and he’s a bit of a leader as well. So having him back will be like a new signing for us. He’s a top player with a good understanding of the all-round game. He was just starting to make the impact we knew he could when he got a nasty injury but we’re looking forward to him coming back.” Gary Bowyer said.
Corry Evans stated himself that he is eager to make it back into the team after completing his full recovery as he wants to kick-start his career with Blackburn Rovers.
“I just can’t wait to get on and make an appearance now. Even though I’ve been here all season I haven’t played much so I’m just looking to get back in there and help the team push on up the table. It took me a few games to get into it at the start of the season because I came with an injury so hopefully I can get back to how I was playing and help the team’’. Evans stated.

HULL WANTS STRIKERS
Hull City recently completed the signings of Nikica Jelavic and Shane Long from Everton and West Brom respectively. Manager Steve Bruce is hoping that they prove to be the difference in the second half of the season. He says that both strikers can score the goals required to make them look like bargains. Scoring goals has been a major problem for Hull in after their return to the Premier league. Even though the club have been able to stay well clear of the relegation zone, they would have been closer to the European qualifying places if not for a bad scoring record.
Bruce has been able to organise his team extremely well so that they are tough to beat and also score goals against. This has helped them get one of the best defensive records in the division amongst all teams put together. They have allowed just 27 goals in the 21 matches. The problem with scoring becomes apparent when looked at the record of goals scored in the 21 matches, as it stands at just 22. Even though they are in the 10th position right now, they are just five points above the relegation zone. Bruce is not taking chances this time around and he hopes that the addition of Jelavic and Long become the difference.
“I have, in 15 years as a manager, always treated any club I work for as if it was my money. I think of the actual prices we have paid, both are real value for money, I really do think that. Of course the numbers have add-ons but the actual fees paid are the same or they are a margin apart. I believe at this particular moment for a 26-year-old (Long) and a 28-year-old (Jelavic) to do the business we have is fantastic piece of business otherwise I would not have done it,” said Bruce.

PALACE SCOUT BLACKBURN
A scout from Crystal Palace was sent to the Football Championship League in search of players that could fit a certain set of requirements that can help them fight their way out of the bottom spots of the Premier League.
This however seems as a huge task for them with a number of weaknesses that other teams are exploiting as each match is played every week. This is evident taking into consideration that Crystal Palace are fighting in the bottom spots of the Premier League having scored 7 goals and conceived 21 goals so far in this season. Read more »
